TEFL Teachers

Responsible to Director of Studies 

Locations:  Leicester, Lampeter & Huddersfield.
Duration: From 1st July to 30th July 2019.
Hours: Full time (6 day week)
Salary: £325.00 per week + Holiday pay

Duties will include

  • Attending an induction 
  • Report to: DOS 
  • Teach 18 – 30 hours a week according to the needs of the centre depending on numbers, plus allocated time for admin and teachers meetings 
  • Deliver EFL Lessons to a high standard according to the guidelines of the syllabus 
  • Actively participate in student welfare & supervision 
  • Actively participate in the activities and excursion programme if resident. 
  • Maintain academic reports and paperwork to a high standard, and assist DOS with administrative duties as required assist DOS in academic support, including testing, placement, exam preparation, teacher support, syllabus and materials development and preparation of teacher and Group Leader seminars 
  • Testing and placement of students and class lists and Testing/Induction lessons 
  • Attend meetings as arranged by the DOS 
  • Put the interests of their students first and quickly manage any problems of discipline or otherwise successfully 
  • Working to ensure the academic and recreational aspects of the programme are integrated especially regarding the excursion programme 
  • Close collaboration with and reporting all incidents to the DOS/CD to ensure the smooth running of the centre 
  • Being actively aware of accident and emergency procedures and reading the staff hand book

Essential Requirements

  • Native or native level English speaker 
  • First degree or rationale
  • TEFLI qualified or PGCE in Primary Education or English or Drama or rationale T
  • Clear and confident communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Student Focussed and understanding of pastoral care 
  • Student management skills 
  • Time management and organisational skills 
  • Ability to work effectively under summer school conditions and in a team

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a summer school environment 
  • Experience with Trinity GESE examinations
